My sister
assured me that enough time had passed and she led me right
to him. I was tense in anticipation of our awkward reunion,
but seeing him was the most natural thing in the world. As
soon as we were together, I couldn't recall my earlier apprehension.
We fell into conversation easily, while the night and the
others disappeared around us. By dawn, I knew once again we
were lovers, though we had yet to so much as touch lips. It
was as if we entered another plane and from this point forward
we would be connected irrevocably together.
